If you want an area you can work on right now and see instant results, internal links will be your best friend.
Unlike outgoing links you may associate with link building, internal links are completely within your control and will help a user navigate your website seamlessly. You just need to consider user experience and it becomes evident where internal links should be.
Mention a service or product on your blog? Link to the service or product page so they can find it.
Talk about a team member on a service page? Link to your team page so they can get to know your team.
Use a call to action? Link to the corresponding page so they can take action.
Internal links will help with usability as they will discover all of your pages naturally which will also help to boost page views that may have not been clicked on otherwise.
By improving your internal links, you should also be able to notice a difference in your page ranking and each page will be getting linking to it. Whereas other sites tend to just link to the homepage.
When it comes to imagery, you may lean towards using free stock imagery. However, by creating original imagery you could stumble upon a linking gold mine.
By creating a bank of stock imagery yourself, upload it as free to use but accreditation must be given. This will almost certainly result in a consistent flow of natural links to your site.
If you want to take it a step further, do some research on what stock imagery is lacking and create those photos. Whether there’s a lack of flat lays or office scenes, you are almost guaranteed to find a niche that you can take advantage of.
The best part about this? You don’t even need a fancy camera, your smartphone’s camera is advanced enough to produce some high-quality stock imagery.
Let your creative side out and try your hand at a digital PR campaign. If your idea is liked enough by journalists, you could get hundreds of links out of one campaign.
Even better if your campaign is picked up by big publications which will have a bigger SEO benefit than smaller sites.
You’ll be surprised to find out how easy it is to come up with once you’ve got the ball rolling.
