Facebook’s Lookalike Audiences allows you to target people who are similar to your current consumers - hence the name. But why do you actually need a lookalike audience?

Facebook’s Lookalike Audiences allows you to target people who are similar to your current consumers - hence the name. But why do you actually need a lookalike audience?
Keep reading to discover everything you need to know and how to set-up a Facebook Lookalike Audience for your business now.
As mentioned previously, a Facebook Lookalike Audience targets a set of new potential customers based off of your current customers. Yes, the same ones who purchase from your site!
The lookalike audience is based off of your custom audience, including those from:
This increases the chances of the lookalike audience wanting to buy from you, a business they might have never seen before. These are known as high-quality leads.
All ads produce leads, but the higher quality those leads are, the more chance you have of them turning into sales.
High-quality leads are one of the most important factors when it comes to growing your business. Facebook Lookalike Audience allows you to gain these leads not only directly but also indirectly.
The leads from the lookalike audience will turn into sales, and potentially loyal customers. If they are happy with your service, they may also recommend you to other potential customers.
This creates a snowball effect, growing your business and helping to establish yourself in your field.
Surprisingly, setting up your Facebook Lookalike Audience is easier than it may sound. The video below talks you through the set-up and how to choose the best selections the feature offers.
Step 1: Go to the Facebook business manager page and select the ‘audience’ page.
Step 2: In the top left corner there should be a blue drop-down box called ‘create new audience’. Click on this and select ‘custom audience’.
Step 3: Choose your source (this will be the source of information used to create the lookalike audience) and then select your pixel.
Step 4: Select the ‘all website visitors’ and change the number of days to 180. This ensures that your lookalike audience is created on the biggest pool of data possible and gives better results. Then choose a name for this audience.
Step 5: On the next page, choose the ‘create lookalike audience’ option. You will then need to pick your pixel, select an ‘event with value’ (we highly recommend purchases), choose your location, and audience size (1% is the size we’d recommend).
Step 6: Finally, push the create audience button to set your lookalike audience up.
It’s as simple as that!
Your Facebook Lookalike Audience has been created. Now all that’s left to do is create your ads to lure in your new audience.
